Performance: 38 out of 40

There are no ifs, no ands, and certainly no ‘buts’ about it. The Cooler Master M.L. 240L Core does not act like a value-oriented AIO cooling solution. Yes, it is ‘only’ a dual 120mm unit and as such 2x140s, 3×120, and 4×140 AIOs will obviously outperform it. That is a given. What was not expected is it performs basically at the level as 2×120 AIOs that cost much, much more than it. That is impressive to say the least. Now if only Cooler Master had opted for ‘better’ (i.e. quieter) fans and we would be truly satisfied with what the L Core series has to offer.

Ease of Use: 18 out of 20

Cooler Master have always been all about offering cooling solutions that are as easy to use as they are easy install. The new L Core series lives up to that core value, and while not perfect (they really need to start keying their brackets + block) few will run into any insurmountable issues. Just the way things should be.

Build Quality & Warranty: 18 out 20

With its combination of rather good (for a thin) Radiator, excellent water block, and yes… even decent fans it is once again obvious that Cooler Master knows how to build an excellent AIO. Mix in a decent length warranty and for its price class the new L Core series is pretty darn hard to argue with. We just wish they had gone the extra, extra mile and included their Mobius 120 fans.

Value: 19 out 20

The new L Core series is all about satisfying core values, and above all else overall value was obviously paramount. So while there may be a few quirks and design decisions we disagree with the overall value is extremely impressive. Just understand that you are not getting a truly premium AIO. Just a near-premium design at rock bottom prices.

Final Score: 93 out 100

With its excellent waterblock, excellent looks, and above average performance The Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core redefines the term value. It simply does not act, look, or even sound like a budget AIO and rather upper-middle priced models a real run for their money. Just understand that its installation process, and the stock fans are not quite as good as their PL series. As such, if you are willing to spend a few extra moments on the installation, and a bit more tuning the fan curve profiles the 240L Core is easily one of the best value orientated AIO series available today.
