Performance: 35 out of 40.

While the not absolute fastest DDR4-3200 kit of memory we have ever seen the fact of the matter is Silicon Power has created am RGB LED enabled series that does not cut any corners compared to their ‘regular’ XPower Turbine series. In fact, it is the XPower Turbine series… now just with LEDs added.

Ease of Use: 18 out of 20

Even though the Silicon Power XPower Turbine RGB comes with an awfully long name it is actually surprisingly easy to use. Yes, it may be a 1.35v set of RAM. Yes, it may be (slightly) taller than the non-LED enabled XPower Turbine series… but the fact of the matter neither of these issues matter. The combination of plenty of 1.2v hardcoded frequencies onboard the DIMM in conjunction with a neutral gray colored heat spreader, backstopped by 16.1million color combination LEDs is a winning one. We honestly doubt (m)any will find this kit suboptimal in the ease of use department… even if it is a touch taller than the previous XPower Turbine series.

Build Quality & Warranty: 17 out of 20

10 layer PCB, great Samsung B-die RAM ICs, even a highly intelligent light diffuser all make it obvious that Silicon Power spent a lot of time and effort on this new addition to their lineup. With that said we would have liked to have seen more LEDs on the PCB (5 really is not enough light zones) and would have liked the diffuser to actually… diffuse the light even more. Overall the build quality – just like the warranty – is certainly above average.

Value: 17 out of 20

There certainly is no question about the XPower Turbine RGB series. It is head and shoulders above the non-LED XPower Turbine series in the value department. With that said, the value is not a slam dunk success when compared to the Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB series which is arguably still going to be a better value for some. As such we would call this series a ‘great step in the right direction’… but with room for improvement.

Final Score: 87 out 100

The XPower Turbine RGB series is easily the best, most capable, most adaptable, and most aesthetically pleasing series of RAM Silicon Power has released to date. It may not be perfect but this series deserves to be on your short list for further consideration.
