There is really not much to dislike with the new Silicon Power XPower Turbine series as Silicon Power really did hit it out of the park with this new series. Everything from the improved heat spreader, to the custom 10-layer PCB, to opting for Samsung B RAM ICs screams ‘winning combination’ to us. Though the real cherry on top is the ease of use this kit has to offer. By opting for Samsung B-Dies both AMD and Intel users need not worry about system compatibility issues that plagues many ‘high performance’ DDR4 kits. Simply plug them in, set the speed… and watch them go. No fuss, no muss, no bother… even if you are using an older AMR Ryzen generation 1 based system.
This combination of performance, ease of use, and yes even price should indeed put Silicon Power on the map for enthusiasts… as this is a “cult classic” in the making. One that strongly reminds us of G. Skill and how they went from obscurity to house-hold name seemingly overnight via one killer model. So if you are looking for a high performance kit that is as easy to use as it is powerful, Silicon Power’s new XPower Turbine series deserves to be on your short, short list. We really can not say enough good things about them.
The only minor nitpick, that really is easy to overlook in light of all the positives, is the color scheme Silicon Power has opted for. Light blue will not be everyone’s cup of tea, and may turn away some potential buyers who do not know exactly what a great deal they are getting when they purchase this kit over more expensive Corsair, G.Skill, or nearly any other ‘name brand’ companies offering. So even if you can not think about how to use blue in your custom PC build… you really should make an effort to try. This kit will not disappoint you, and will provide years and years of high-performance computing without breaking the bank.
The Review
Silicon Power XPower Turbine DDR4-3200
The Silicon Power XPower Turbine series may not be perfect, but thanks to its use of excellent Samsung B-dies backstopped by a good heat spreader design the new Turbine series is going to help put Silicon Power on the map.
