As we saw throughout testing, the Zotac AMP! GTX 1070 resides right in that sweet spot of performance vs. price. Yes, there are slightly faster NVIDIA GTX 1070s. Yes, there are even better over-clocking cards. Yes, there are quieter. Yes, there are even cooler running. There are however very few that offer such a great blend of all these traits and comes in a 2-slot form-factor. To find its equal in the overall value department you either have to be willing to live with a 2.5 to 3 slot form-factor (Gigabyte AORUS), or be willing to spend a bit more money in order to boost the performance levels up enough to get the value back (Zotac AMP! Extreme).

This is not to say this is a perfect card. There is no such thing as a perfect card. There are always going to be trade-offs. It really is a matter of deciding if the trade-offs the Zotac AMP! GTX 1070 designers made are a best fit for your needs. If performance is your only concern the Zotac AMP! Extreme GTX 1070 is pretty hard to beat as it is going to cost you less than a EVGA FTW2 ICX GTX 1070 yet offer nearly as good overclocking headroom. If noise is your main concern its hard to beat the various water based models out there. If size matters… its hard to beat the little power house Zotac MINI GTX 1070.

These are all variables only you can decide the answer to. However, for the average buyer trying to avoid selling a kidney (or their first-born child) to afford a RTX 20-series card the Zotac AMP! GTX 1070 is a great ‘everyman’ card. It may not be the best in all fields but its blend of aesthetics, stock performance, noise, form-factor, and overclocking potential are awfully hard to beat. We strongly recommend being on the look out for this model… as while Zotac’s reputation is growing by leaps and bounds every year, not everyone knows about them… and those that do are usually attracted to the AMP! Extreme variants. This makes the ‘little brother’ Zotac AMP! GTX 1070 a veritable diamond in the rough… as we paid less for it than what an EVGA SuperClocked GTX 1070 could be found for. So keep your eyes open and be prepared to jump on any deal you find… as they go fast.

Zotac AMP GTX 1070

91% Score

The Zotac AMP! Is tailor made for knowledgeable consumers who know exactly what they want. Be that good performance, lack of installation issues, or just overall value, this card is sure to please. As long as you understand that it is not a AMP! Extreme and set your expectations a smidgen lower you will like what this card has to offer.
