If you are seriously thinking about a premium phone the ZenFone 4 Pro demands to be on your short list. It simply is the best ASUS makes and is equal to damn near any phone in its price range. Everything from its premium chassis, to its surprisingly good camera, to its excellent cell and WiFi coverage are sure to please. This phone easily got cell coverage in areas that made an Apple iPhone 7 puke out on. Better still, the microphones do such a marvelous job with reducing extraneous noise, rushing wind and the like, that few will ever guess you are on a cell phone and not on a landline.
For mega-task users and gaming enthusiasts the 6GB of RAM and extremely accurate touch sensor screen is also sure to please. No matter how demanding the application this phone laughs at the demands you place upon it and powers through like nobody’s business. For more mainstream users this lack of lag makes for a truly pleasing user-experience. One so good that few others will be able to beat it – regardless of price. Even then we doubt many will be able to justify spending even more to get what is arguably unnoticeable levels of improvement.
Though what really pushes the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro over the top is its amazing screen. It may not be ‘4K’ but its provides crisp, clean, accurate reproductions that really is good enough for budding photography enthusiasts to need to use a colorimeter on. Even mainstream users will be wowed at how ‘perfect’ everything looks on the screen and will love it for movie watching – be it YouTube or Netflix streaming.
This is not something we can say about many phones but this is one of the few that does it.
Taken as a whole this is the true ZenFone 4 model. Forget the rest, buy the best. You will cry over the asking price but will love what it can do for years and years to come. The only exception would be those who truly need massive battery life. This is the one area that ASUS has dropped the ball and not been a trendsetter on. Basically, instead of doing what they should have done – and made the phone a few millimeters thicker – they went with the pack and went down the ‘thin is all that matters’ rabbit hole. As such the ZenFone 4 MAX 3GB may not be as nice a phone to use… but it will last a whole lot longer. Beyond this corner of the market we doubt anyone will be disappointed with what it has to offer.
