DaVinci Resolve Studio Benchmark
For this test, we are using DaVinci Resolve Studio and have taken a one-half-hour 1080P (30,000Kbps) resolution video and exported it using MP4 format, H.264 codec, UltraHD resolution (4K) at 20,000Kbps. No effects beyond super-scaling, standard fade-in from black at start, and fade to black at end have been used.
Handbrake X265
HandBrake is a free and open-source transcoder for digital video files, originally developed in 2003 by Eric Petit. Since then it has continued to evolve. Included in its list of features is the ability to transcode existing video from x264/MPEG-4 AVC to x265/HEVC. For this test, we are using a one-half-hour length 4K x264 file and using the H.265 MKV 1080p30 preset, transcoding it to 1080p resolution.
Topaz Labs AI
Topaz Labs has quickly made a name for itself for both its upscaling and denoise ‘AI’ software options. For this custom test, we have taken 10 RAW photos and super-scaled them by 4 times. We then ran DeNoise on them. The result below is the combination of both timed tests.
