We personally like “240mm” class closed loop cooling solutions. They are big enough to handle nearly any load an overclocked system can throw at them. They have enough surface area in the radiator that the fans do not have to spin up all that much at typical heat loads. They are also small enough that nearly any decent PC case can handle them. Put another way they offer great performance, excellent noise profiles, ease of use, and ease of installation. The EVGA CLC 240 is pretty much the epitome of what we look for in a 240mm AIO… and then adds in a huge dollop of value on top much like the cherry on top of a delicious sundae.

While it may seem odd to put ‘value’ in the same sentence as a $110 CPU cooling solution the fact of the matter is this is noticeably less than most other companies are demanding for their premium 240mm AIO’s. Considering 9 out of 10 AIO’s are built by ASETEK and only minor tweaks separate one from the other… this makes the EVGA CLC 240 a nearly no brainer. You get great performance, good noise to performance ratio and can keep a few extra bucks in your budget to put towards something else. When you mix in EVGA’s legendary customer service with a five-year warranty there really is not much to dislike and a whole lot to like with this impressive CPU cooling solution.

Now with all that said no AIO is perfect compromises always have to be made to hit a given price point (as otherwise they all would be the size of a house and powered by its own power supply, and use jet turbines for fans). As such, the EVGA CLC 240 is not perfect. The reason the EVGA is slightly lower performing when running flat out is not due to the fans. The stock fans are better than most – especially at lower RPMs where they will spend most of their time at. Instead, it is using a slightly older Aestek design for its foundation. This minor difference will not be noticeable by the average consumer, and those who do notice it… should really be moving up to 280mm or even 360mm AIO’s – or even fully custom water loops. Since this difference really does not matter in the grand scheme of things but the lower asking price will be noticed by everyone this makes the EVGA CLC 240 a near no-brainer for value. So, if you are looking for a very good, very easy to use 240mm class All In One cooling solution the EVGA CLC 240mm should be on your short list.

The Review

EVGA CLC 240

92% Score

The EVGA CLC 240 is an incredible value with the above average installation process, fans with an ultra-wide performance envelope, and generally very good cooling performance. It even has EVGA’s legendary warranty backstopping it for five years. That all adds up to a great deal in our books.
