SolidWorks Performance Test (CPU only)
SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) application published by Dassault Systèmes. While not as well known as some other professional CAD programs it is a powerful CAD program that can bring even the most powerful of systems to their knees. To help ensure professionals actually have enough horsepower it comes with a simple, yet decent, benchmark. Consisting of many parts it tests the entire system. However, only the CPU portion of the results are recorded.
PC Mark
PCMark is a computer benchmark tool developed by Futuremark to test the performance of a PC at the system and component level. PCMark 10’s included benchmark covers a wide range of activities from everyday productivity tasks to demanding work with digital media content. We have opted for the Digital Content Creation benchmark, which reflects the demands of working with digital content and media. The tests include Photo Editing, Video Editing, Rendering, and Visualization.
