Accessories: 3 out of 5
Once again the regardless of a Lifetime warranty and included software the lack of an inexpensive long term storage container is a disappointment.
Read performance: 20 out 25
The Superior Pro series certainly is not going to break any speed records but for its class its level of performance is right in the same ballpark as more well-known brand’s offerings. By the same token ‘good enough’ and ‘pro’ should never be uttered in the same sentence.
Write performance: 30 out of 40
Once again the Superior Pro offers decent performance but nothing outstanding in the write department.
Warranty: 8 out of 10
Just as with any serious manufacture Silicon Power does offer a lifetime warranty on their Superior Pro series. The only issue is RMA’ing one may take longer than from most.
Value: 15 out of 20
Judging a SD cards value is a very personal equation with an answer that will vary greatly based upon your specific scenario and needs. What we can say is that overall the Superior Pro does have a pretty decent overall value. Just one that does not entirely support either its ‘superior’ or ‘pro’ branding.
Final Score: 76 / 100
This is a really tough series to summarize quickly. On the one hand the NAND used is going to be more durable than most SD UHS-I enabled models available today. On the other it is a UHS-I and not UHS-II enabled series. At this price point we really would have liked to have seen Silicon Power take full advantage of the MLC NAND they included. As it stands the Silicon Power Superior Pro is good but certainly not superior to similarly priced models offered by the competition… and maybe not even be optimal for ‘average joes’ let alone ‘pros’.
