At the forefront of Intel’s announcement is the HX-series, a mobile processor lineup designed to cater to the needs of gamers, creators, and professionals who demand high compute performance without compromising mobility. Leading this series is the Intel Core i9-14900HX, boasting an impressive configuration of eight Performance-cores (P-cores) and 16 Efficient-cores (E-cores), delivering unparalleled single- and multi-thread performance.

The HX-series introduces several key features:

  • Turbo frequency up to 5.8 GHz, translating to a 17% improvement in gaming performance and a 51% boost in multitasking performance compared to the previous generation.
  • A groundbreaking 24 cores (eight P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads in the i9-14900HX processors.
  • Overclocking capabilities with support for Intel® Extreme Utility (XTU) and Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP), providing enthusiasts with customization options.
  • Integration of Thunderbolt™ 5, offering 80 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth and a bandwidth boost providing up to 120 Gbps, setting new standards for display and data experiences.

The HX-series doesn’t just cater to gamers; it also elevates creator performance by incorporating 50% more E-cores in the Intel Core i7-14700HX processors, resulting in 20 cores (eight P-cores, 12 E-cores) and 28 threads.

Furthermore, Intel has introduced Intel® Application Optimization (APO) support on the HX series, featuring compatibility with six new gaming titles. This addition builds on the success of the Intel Core 14th Gen desktop launch in October 2023, expanding the repertoire of games that benefit from optimized performance.

Wireless connectivity is not overlooked, with integrated Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and discrete Intel® Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig) offering multi-gigabit speeds, wired-like responsiveness, and exceptional reliability. Bluetooth connectivity is also enhanced, supporting both Bluetooth 5.4 and Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless connections with multiple devices.

With more than 60 HX-powered partner systems set to hit the market in 2024, users can expect a diverse range of laptops that cater to various preferences and performance needs.

Expanding its desktop lineup, Intel introduces 18 new processors under the 14th Gen umbrella, available at 65-watt and 35-watt power levels. These processors cater to mainstream PC users, offering a spectrum of options to meet gaming, creative, and everyday computing demands.

Key features of the desktop processors include:

  • Turbo frequency up to 5.8 GHz, leading to a 37% improvement in multi-thread performance and a 7% boost in Microsoft Office performance compared to the previous generation.
  • Up to 24 cores (eight P-cores, 16 E-cores) and 32 threads in the i9-14900 processors.
  • Enhanced support for memory with up to 192 GB of total DDR5-5600/DDR4-3200 MT/S, ensuring backward compatibility with existing Intel 600- and 700-series-based motherboards.
  • Continued support for in-box thermal solutions, including the Intel® Laminar RH1 and RM1 coolers.
  • Next-generation wireless connectivity, featuring Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig) and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+).

These processors empower users to experience powerful AI and compute-intensive workloads, making them ideal for a range of applications, from interactive whiteboards in classrooms to medical imaging displays and controlled automation and robotics on factory floors.

Thin and Light Innovation: Intel Core U Processor Series 1

Intel recognizes the growing demand for efficient, balanced performance in thin-and-light devices and has introduced the Intel Core U Processor Series 1. This family of processors, led by the Intel Core 7 processor 150U, brings to market up to 10 cores, 5.4 GHz turbo frequency, and up to 96 GB of total DDR5-5200/DDR4-3200 MT/S memory.

Key features of the Intel Core U Processor Series 1 include:
