Packaging & Accessories: 6 out of 10

On the one hand the included accessories are lacking. On the other, the shipping container offers excellent protection. A lot of thought went into it and it shows. So if the lack of a dual 6 to single 8pin adapter doesn’t matter to you, then please add another two points for your final score.

Functionality & Aesthetics: 17 out of 20

From a performance and cooling performance this card is great. It is also rather pretty. The fly in the ointment comes from Gigabyte using plastic for part of the fascia and the fact that the heatsink is not as large as the dimensions would lead one to believe. It still works incredibly well… but it could work even better if they had taken full advantage of its form-factor.

Build Quality & Warranty: 16 out of 20

Once again, this card is a bit of a mixed bag. The central fan can be rubbed by the flimsy LED enabled ‘X’ logo covering. On the other hand, the card itself is very robust and works just as good as many more expensive factory overclocked GTX 1070s.

Performance: 28 out of 30

As shown throughout this review this card is a performance power house. It may indeed come with high factory performance ratings… but in the real-world it does even better. So much so that it is one of the fastest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 cards available today. As an added bonus it is also rather silent. That is a very enticing combination to say the least.

Value: 19 out of 20

While it does have a few issues that will have to be seriously considered, this card is packed with value. As long as your PC case and motherboard can accommodate its over-sized dimensions it will be hard – but not impossible – to find its equal.

Final Score: 84 out of 100

The Gigabyte AORUS GTX 1070 may not be perfect but the performance and overall value it has to offer is impressive. As long as you can live with a few not insurmountable issues it will provide you with years of near NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070Ti levels of performance for less than a GTX 1070Ti price. That is nothing to sneeze at given the fact it is actually cheaper than other manufacture’s flagship 1070 cards!
