At the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024), Intel Corporation introduced the latest innovation poised to revolutionize commercial computing: the new Intel vPro® platform. This cutting-edge platform promises unparalleled productivity, security, manageability, and stability for businesses of all sizes.

Intel’s new vPro platform leverages the power of AI to enhance PC experiences for enterprises, small- and medium-sized businesses, the public sector, and the edge computing landscape. The platform boasts an array of features, including the enhanced capabilities of Intel® Core™ Ultra processors with built-in Intel® Arc™ GPUs, as well as the introduction of Intel® Core™ 14th Gen processors.

David Feng, Vice President of Intel’s Client Computing Group and General Manager of Client Segments, expressed his enthusiasm for the new platform, stating, “The new Intel vPro platform with Intel Core Ultra continues to raise the bar across productivity, security, manageability, and stability, to ensure IT organizations manage transitions with confidence.”

Key Features of the New Intel vPro Platform:

1. Processor Powerhouse: The Intel Core Ultra processor promises leadership performance, enhanced power efficiency, and built-in Intel Arc GPUs. These processors support AI acceleration across the CPU, GPU, and the new neural processing unit (NPU), unlocking a myriad of AI-driven experiences for users.

2. Graphics Performance: The introduction of the new built-in Intel Arc GPU delivers up to twice the graphics performance of previous generations. Advanced features like AI and ray tracing cater to modern software needs, while a dedicated OEM-enabled Intel Arc Pro workstation graphics driver enhances performance optimizations across various software applications.

3. Enhanced Security: The Intel vPro platform prioritizes security with features like Enhanced Intel® Threat Detection Technology and the Intel® Silicon Security Engine, which authenticate system firmware to safeguard against cyber threats below the OS level.

4. Manageability: Intel introduces Intel® Device Discovery and Intel® Device Health with VMware and Eclypsium to provide IT organizations with enhanced visibility and end-to-end device management capabilities. The platform invests in hardware-based remote management for seamless IT operations.

5. Stability and Sustainability: Intel’s Stable IT Program ensures smooth OS transitions and compatibility with Windows 10 and Windows 11. Additionally, the platform emphasizes sustainability, with 94% of Intel vPro devices being EPEAT Silver or better, and remote repair capabilities that significantly reduce carbon emissions.

Implications and Collaborations:

The introduction of the AI PC marks a pivotal moment in enterprise technology, promising to redefine productivity and creativity in the modern workforce. Intel’s collaboration with Microsoft aims to optimize experiences across Windows 11, Microsoft Teams, and Copilot, delivering improved efficiency and enhanced graphics capabilities.

James Howell, General Manager of Windows at Microsoft, highlighted the deep partnership between Microsoft and Intel, emphasizing the transformative potential of Copilot and Intel Core Ultra silicon.

The new Intel vPro platform underscores Intel’s commitment to driving innovation in commercial computing, offering businesses a competitive edge in today’s dynamic market landscape.
