In an effort to make sorting through all the results as easy as possible we have combined the results all of all the game results into an easy to digest summary format. By comparing it to similar products in all the games you will be able to easily find the game(s) you are interested in, see the improvement and decide if it is the worth the investment. This pretty much sums up why we like this card. Not only can it justfy its own asking price it makes justifying the price of any R7 370, GTX 950, or refrence speed GTX 960 bloody difficult.
Score Card and Summary
Packaging & Accessories: 9 out of 10
MSI’s included accessories are every bit as good as what comes with more expensive MSI Gaming cards and so too is the shipping container. In this area there really is not much to complain about.
Functionality & Aesthetics: 19 out of 20
As expected the aesthetics are typical MSI Gaming series, that is to say on the aggressive side for our personal tastes, but still good. On the functionality side of the equation there is no argument that this TWIN FROZR version is overbuilt and more than capable of handling any overclocking demands you place on it.
Build Quality & Warranty: 18 out of 20
For its price MSI has built one heck of a card. Everything from its robust power delivery system, to its excellent Twin Frozr V heatsink simple exudes a sense of confidence. The only hitch is the three year warranty, and while this is average for this market niche, we dislike using the word ‘average’ in the same sentence as this card.
Performance: 25 out of 30
It may be an ‘older’ core based design, but this MSI card has a lot of performance potential. It may still get its lunch eaten by the likes of the R9 390X or GTX 980Ti, but that its performance is still high enough for it to not need any excuses over it being a ‘value orientated card’.
Value: 18 out of 20
This card screams value. Everything from its excellent design, to its better speeds, to the excellent noise profile. All of this makes spending an extra 9 or ten dollars a no-brainer. More impressive still is it makes spending an extra $50 and stretching a budget to this card equally easy.
Final Score: 89 out of 100
By combining a much better core, with an extremely potent custom cooling solution MSI has made a very good argument for why AMD fans should spend the extra cash and opt for this R9 380 over any R7 370. Equally impressive is MSI has been able to create an $200 AMD based card that offers all consumers a good reason to go Team Red instead of Team Green.
