Performance:37 out of 40.
On its own DDR4-2666 is not all that impressive, but given the ease at which consumers can push things to DDR4-3200 levels we doubt many will be disappointed with the performance the Fury DDR4-2666 has to offer.
Ease of Use:20 out of 20
Quite honestly this is basically the perfect kit for first time consumers, lazy people, and system builders alike as it will be recognized as a DDR4-2666 kit right out the gate. Yes, consumers don’t even need to enable the XMP profile to get it, they just have to plug in the ram and get on with their lives! All the XMP will do is tighten the timings up… and that makes this kit the epitome of a user-friendly RAM kit.
Build Quality & Warranty: 18 out of 20
With its unique combination of killer good looks, down right beefy heatsinks, and a lifetime warranty there really is not much to be disappointed with G.Skill’s Trident Z series. The only minor quibble is that they are 44mm high (vs 31.25mm for std DDR4 modules) and may interfere with mounting process of the occasional air based CPU cooling solution. That really is not that big of a problem and just shows how good these kits have been designed.
Value: 19 out of 20
This set of DDR4 ram is priced very reasonable for its class and is a downright steal compared to DDR4-3200 kits. Considering it really will not take all that much effort to get that performance there really is nothing dislike on this end of things. Mix in a lifetime warranty and nearly issue free installation issues and the overall value really is darn near perfect.
Final Score: 94 out of 100
No matter what you consider important – be it shear speed, low latency, ease of use, ease of installation, or even overall aesthetics – the Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4-2666 32GB kit has you covered. This kit does set the bar awfully damn high, and that is why we quickly came to love this kit.
