At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, Intel unveiled an expanded lineup of its Core Ultra (Series 2) processors, aiming to deliver enhanced AI capabilities across various computing devices. The new series includes the Intel Core Ultra 200U, 200H, 200HX, and 200S processors, alongside the previously announced 200V series.

David Feng, Intel’s Vice President of the Client Computing Group and General Manager of Client Segments, emphasized the significance of this release, stating, “2025 is a pivotal year for PC refresh, and with Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors, we’re delivering the most advanced commercial systems to date.” He highlighted that these processors cater to a wide range of form factors, from thin-and-light productivity devices to high-performance workstations, all backed by Intel vPro’s manageability and security features.

Performance benchmarks indicate substantial improvements over previous generations. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265H processor, for instance, delivers up to 2.84 times higher multicore performance in Cinebench 2024, 1.39 times faster performance in Procyon office productivity tests, and 1.97 times faster video editing performance compared to the four-year-old Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor.

To streamline IT operations, Intel introduced the Intel vPro Fleet Services, a hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that simplifies remote fleet management by eliminating the need for on-premises servers. This service aims to offer businesses faster recovery from disruptions and reduces the steps required for activation from 24 to six, without additional infrastructure costs. Currently in private preview, Intel vPro Fleet Services will also be integrated into Microsoft Intune.

In addition, Intel launched the Intel Assured Supply Chain (ASC) program to provide customers with greater transparency and assurance in the silicon manufacturing process. This specialized client system-on-chip (SoC) solution ensures a digitally attestable chain of custody for each chip, leveraging a dedicated manufacturing pathway through specific production facilities.

The Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors are set to power a broad range of commercial desktop and mobile devices throughout 2025. Systems featuring the Intel Core Ultra 200V series with the Intel vPro platform are available now, while those powered by the 200U, 200H, 200HX, and 200S series are expected to ship in late March 2025. Systems incorporating the Intel Assured Supply Chain program are anticipated to be available in the second half of 2025.

This expansion of the Core Ultra series underscores Intel’s commitment to advancing AI capabilities in commercial computing, offering businesses enhanced performance, security, and manageability across diverse device form factors.
